HARRY PRICE QUALIFICATIONS 1950-1954 Hereford College of Art NDD Since retiring from the School of Art at Coventry University I devote myself to full time painting. As an art student in the 50's two different directions, one of academic training allied to craftsmanship and the other promoting abstract expressionism faced me. After practising both, the tension between them still finds echoes in my painting. The subject of my painting obviously comes from my own surroundings with an emphasis on light effects and surface sheen. The distortions and reflected images in glass and mirrors often create tensions with the flat surface of the paper itself and find expression in the natural sparkle and sheen of my watercolours. Harry joined the Linda Blackstone Gallery in 1999, Broadway Modern Gallery in 2005 and Fine Art UK (Ledbury) in 2007.
